Diary Of A Busker Day 2596 Sunday September 7th 2025 Winchester.
An hour and a half session in the traditional Sunday place, namely The Square. Not much to report…apart from the dustman’s dustcart rolling towards me while he had his back turned, chatting to another dustman. Fortunately, a bloke saw what was happening and ran to stop it hitting me! And I got a £15 donation, in old notes (a fiver and tenner) from a young woman. These keep turning up and I think some people aren’t aware you can change them at the bank. No one really spoke to me apart from a man who said ‘Thank you, you made our afternoon’, as he headed towards the cathedral with his family after a bite to eat outside one of the restaurants across the road. I “collected” £44.50 for my efforts – not bad for an hour and a half.
