Diary Of A Busker Day 2619 Friday October 24th 2025 Winchester.
Inheritance money means I don’t have to bust my gut and freeze anymore. Out with the Faith 12-string at the Buttercross…but not for long as it starts to rain after 55 minutes. In fact, I was going to pack up after an hour and come home, or at least have a break to warm the hands up because they were so cold I could barely feel the tips, especially my forefinger on my left hand. The problem wasn’t so much the temperature (around 12 degrees) but the wind, which was quite severe and didn’t let up for even a minute. The last song was Wouldn’t It Be Nice, which I had to stop halfway through due to the rain. Wouldn’t it be nice if I could actually finish this song?!
Graduation week continues. The blokes are all in suits, the women in gowns and some quite revealing dresses and many don’t have coats and I’m thinking ‘I’M cold in a shirt, waistcoat and leather jacket, they must be bloody freezing!’
Tomorrow is quite a landmark day. It marks the 15th busking anniversary. October 25th 2010 in Southampton. I was 48 – a youngster!
