Diary Of A Busker Day ~ 34

Diary Of A Busker Day 34 Saturday January 29th Winchester High Street (opposite WH Smiths, Time 2:55 – 5:25pm).

Cold, cold – always cold! Nothing worth writing about for this session, apart from what I was doing before. Met Mr. Napier, the chief reporter from the Hampshire Chronicle. He likes some of the diary and it is arranged for some excerpts to appear in the next edition of the paper. Stuart, his photographer turned up, took some pictures opposite Smiths – I had to tell Rob, the rock busker, not to worry as I wasn’t going to play, just set up my stuff for a photo – then Mr. Napier bought me a cup of coffee, had a chat, and that was it. Next up was the charity shop refit do. Played just inside the door, on the left, for two hours and for nothing AND I had to sit watching the owner’s son munching on a hamburger while ‘manning’ the till – he was supposed to get one for me at the same time but he forgot, or he couldn’t be bothered. I eventually got him to find his mother, get some money off her and go get one for me. Apart from that, nothing of note occurred…apart from a man walking in wearing an old raincoat, Fedora and dark glasses – while I was playing The Third Man. Good timing.

Earnings: £17.81p.
