Day 2682

Day 2682
Wednesday April 29th 2026
Winchester

Back to Winchester and it’s just as windy as it was in Southampton yesterday. I’m down at the crossroads and at one point the laminates attached to the case – there are three joined together, advertising the CDs and books – were blown off the case (mid song) and were making their way down Market Street. I carried on playing, watching helplessly because I really try not to stop playing for anything. I was grateful when an old woman retrieved them for me! ‘Oh thank you so much. It’s so windy, isn’t it?’ She smiled – ‘Oh, I know, I know!’

Slow coinage which was helped enormously when a man took a photo of the QR code, though I only found out later at home how much he’d donated – £20, which shot the total up to £28.72!

I did an hour and a half. I cut it short because I wanted to get home in time to say goodbye to Chris, who’s off to Thailand to join his wife. He’d lived next door for almost all of his 68 years!
