When I came into town in the morning there were two buskers out. The first was near The Buttercross and couldn’t play the bloody trumpet. Maybe he mislaid his usual instrument and the only thing around was a trumpet which he’d never played before. He was torturing that already crap Theme From Arthur and at first I thought it might be a joke but it wasn’t funny enough. Further down there was a bloke on the bagpipes which I’m not into but at least he was in tune.
The less said about my own sessions a few hours later, the better. The hour at Nando’s got me £4.50 – bad enough but it got worse. For the hour up in The Square, I made £1.50, making a grand total of £6 for two hours of playing. That’s even worse than Southampton yesterday. I’m never playing here again…at least not until Saturday.
