Diary Of A Busker ~ Day 18

Diary Of A Busker Day 18 Thursday December 30th Winchester High Street (opposite Clarks) Time: 1:30 – 4:05pm.

Temperature similar to yesterday, but thankfully not as damp. The weather is always the prime concern in this ‘game’…ALWAYS! Another mega-session with no breaks apart from standing up to stretch now and then. Lots of parents with young children – which is good, as the children see the busker – and today I’m the only one, therefore no dilution of attention/spondoolics! – the children stop, gawp at the strange sound coming from the strange man, parent gives coin to child, pushes sometimes scared child towards hat and hopefully the coin goes in the hat – the red Christmas hat for this time of year. Or, if they’re very young, they’ll just hold out their hand. They’re sweet, the little ones!

Had the obligatory aged lady/gentleman voice their approval upon hearing The Third Man. Chatted to another busker – Guy, about not being able to play in loud rock groups because of hearing problems. This prompted Guy to say he has Tinnitus in one ear. “I can trump you, Guy! I’ve got it in both ears and have Focal Dystonia to boot!”

Earnings: £23.41p
