Diary Of A Busker Day 22 Wednesday January 4th Winchester High Street (opposite WH Smiths) Time: 1:25 – 3:10pm.
Temperature is cold, but there’s little wind, so I was able to play more or less non-stop the whole time. Proceedings were fairly uneventful – apart from the tramp playing her flute to Music To Watch Girls By. Well, she was playing her flute, but not playing Music To Watch Girls By…
Back home, Doll told me that one of her work colleagues said she’d seen me out busking and said to her “Maybe he’d get more money if he got a whippet – isn’t that what those sort of people have?” This really upset Doll. It goes to show how narrow-minded some people are. I’m a musician down on my luck, I’m not homeless and I’m not a tramp – I’m ALWAYS clean shaven, with freshly ironed shirt (under thick jumper), knife edged centre-creased trousers and polished shoes.
Earnings: £19.14p.
