Day 1 Tuesday October 25th Southampton City Centre Pitch D
My first day busking in the city centre. I came prepared with my documents of authorisation and permission to use ‘limited amplification’ which I had to apply for via written request to Southampton Council. Just to use a tiny little amp. They then had to send me back the documents, dated at least eight days before the date I wanted to busk – what a palaver! After all that, I was there for only twenty minutes as it started raining almost straight away and became too cold to play – I have found twenty minutes is the limit when there is no sun – after that the right hand doesn’t work.
A woman gave me £1 “for perseverance in the rain”.
